In Pics: Hema Malini Car Accident, Driver Arrested For Negligent Driving
The police have taken action in the Hema Malini car accident and on Friday morning, the Rajasthan Police arrested the driver at 7:45 am in connection to the fatal accident which left a girl child dead.
The 35 years old driver who is a native of Vrindavan is claiming to be innocent. He has been booked under 304-A of IPC, a bailable offence. The driver says that it was not his fault and that the Alto car driver took a sudden turn without indicating.
After the accident, the police had filed an FIR against the driver, who was driving a Mercedes. Due to his fault 5 people inculding Hema Malini is injured and one girl child is dead.
"We have arrested him under section 304-A (Causing death due to negligence) of the Indian Penal Code(IPC) which is a bailable offense," said Rajesh Tyagi, DSP to the TOI paper.
He further added, "The airbags of accident met vehicle were opened properly on the driver and his next seat on the left while the airbag of the backseats including the left side where Hema Malini was sitting did not open. There was also blood on the left side where she was sitting thereby clarifying that she was not driving the vehicle."

Hema
Hema Malini has been injured in the face, neck and back. While she is out of danger, the doctor's have kept her under overnight observation.

Two of the four injured were admitted to SMS hospital in Jaipur while two are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dausa, he said.

Esha Deol
Hema Malini's daughter, Esha Deol and her hubby Bharat were seen at the airport as they arrived to visit their mother in hospital.

Accident
The accident occurred on national highway 11 near Dausa Midway at around 9 p.m. when the car in which Hema Malini was travelling collided with another car.

Alto Car
There were five passengers in the Alto car- 2 women, 2 children and a man. The girl child died at 8.50 PM while two of the remaining survivors were seriously injured.

Injured Hema
Hema Malini was rushed to Fortis hospital here from the accident spot in Dausa, 60 km from the spot and underwent CT scan.

Mahesh Thakur
Hema Malini's driver Mahesh Thakur has been arrested from Fortis Hospital.

Driver Arrested
The arrested driver identified as Mahesh Thakur (35) is a native of Vrindavan.

Congress says Hema displayed insensitivity by not taking the injured to hospital in time.
