Kangana Ranaut: I Was Considered Untouchable By My Peers

Kangana Ranaut recently won the National Award for her performance in Queen and certainly she has earned her position.

While, Kangana Ranaut is one of the most sought after actresses in Bollywood now, there was a time when the actress was apparently ill-treated.

Kangana Ranaut who made her debut in Bollywood with the film Gangster said that she used to be misbehaved and mocked by her peers but now she has earned the respect she desired.

"At one point, I was ill-treated, considered untouchable and rude things were said to me, despite no provocation from my side. I was mocked for my accent and then they made fun of my dressing sense. And most of all I was crucified for being an outsider in an island full of people with lineage. It was scary," said Kangana Ranaut.

Kangana Ranaut played the role of a simple girl in Queen who sets off for her honeymoon alone after the bridegroom refuses to marry her. Kangana Ranaut celebrated her birthday just a day before receiving the National Award and this is how she feels about it.

"It has still not sunk in. My father called and said that this was the best birthday present I could have hoped for. I was teary-eyed as I had just turned 28 the day before."
