Whenever we talk about the best fashion designer of India, the first name clicks in our mind is of Manish Malhotra! Yesterday, (November 5, 2015) the man, who re-defined fashion in the Bollywood, celebrated his 50th birthday and many B-town divas were spotted at his private birthday bash.
Actresses including Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Sridevi, Shilpa Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Urmila Matondkar, Karisma Kapoor and Sophie Choudhary were seen partying hard and it was such a treat to our eyes to see these divas together.
Recently, Vogue's December edition celebrated the 25 years of Manish Malhotra in Bollywood with his leading ladies including Kareena, Kajol, Alia, Sridevi & Karisma on its cover page. Did you know that Manish won his first Filmfare award in 1995 for best costume design in Rangeela and marked his foothold in the tinsel-town?
Manish entered the film industry as a costume designer when the concept of 'costume designing' was alien to many. He had said, "My journey has been unconventional; instead of mainstream designing, I started my career with film costume. The journey has been phenomenal, I have received tremendous response."
All the leading actresses of Bollywood from Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to newbie Kriti Sanon, have worn his designs. And we gotta say that he is singularly responsible for the modernising the way, actresses look in films today! In fact, no B-town wedding is complete without his designed costumes. Manish has also designed Kareena Kapoor's wedding outfit, which was just wow!
