Rati Agnihotri Files FIR Against Husband In Mumbai

Yesteryear actress Rati Agnihotri lodged a complaint against her husband, Anil Virwani, in Worli police station, Mumbai. The actress charged him of assault and criminal intimidation.

Rati is married to Anil for 30 years. She stated in the FIR that things were going fine with her husband till 2005. Anil Virwani a real estate businessman keeps losing his cool since then because of financial issues.

Rati finally put up her foot down against her domestic violence and has lodged a complaint. The couple lives with their son Tanuj, whose statement will also be recorded. Rati had to be treated for her injuries in a private hospital.

Senior police inspector at Worli police station, Vinay Kulkarni, said, “Virwani wasn’t doing very well at work since 2005. This might have been the reason behind their fights. We haven’t arrested Virmani yet because we are still recording his statement.”

Virwani denied the allegations against him and said, “I am clueless about this case. I don’t think a case has been filed in the first place, and I think Rati is at her mother’s house at Lonavla because the latter is not keeping well,” he said.

When asked if they had any issues before, Virmani said, “Never. We have been together for nearly 30 years now.”

Their son Tanuj who was shooting in Mumbai said, “I got a few calls regarding this but I haven’t been able to speak to Mom or Dad. Whatever it is, it’s between my parents. We need to respect my mother’s privacy right now. Once she is comfortable, she will give a statement to the media.”
