Ranveer Singh has created a niche for himself in Bollywood today. But there were days when the actor faced many difficult situations in his career. Not only this, this young superstar also thought that he would never be able to dance or act.

The actor recently discussed about his struggles with HT, ''There are ups and downs in life. I've had some serious injuries, which I've had to overcome. Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl (2011) took a year to be made, and Lootera (2013) also got delayed because I injured my back very badly.''

Ranveer Singh further added, 'So, for 19 months, I didn't have a single release. For a newcomer, that could be catastrophic.''

"Because of the injury, I didn't even know if I would be able to shoot for any action scenes, or ever dance again. It's not fun to be out of action,'' the actor said.

''We were taught in acting school that your body is your instrument, and you are the player of that instrument. So, it is important to take care of your body. Sometimes, when these things (injuries) happen, it gets very scary," Ranveer added.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is busy in the shooting of Bajirao Mastani with girlfriend Deepika Padukone.
