Salman Khan's Father Raises A Strong Point On Hit & Run Case

Salman Khan was sentenced to five years of imprisonment in regard to the hit and run case. Although, he has been out on bail, Salman's bail period will soon expire on July 8th.

Obviously, Salman's family, more specifically his father, is worried about the actor's fate after the bail period is over. However, Salman's father Salim Khan has been stressing that it was an accident which was wrongly attributed as hit and run and the man has reasons to say that.

One leading publication earlier quoted Salman Khan's father as arguing, "Why is his accident case referred to as hit and run case? He had not gone missing after the accident. He had given his statement and undergone alcohol test after coming home. Why should anybody pronounce him guilty before the case concludes?"

In another interview, Salim Khan said, "Hit and run has the implication of being callous and a coward. You become insensitive and coward if you want to run away in such a situation. The car skidded and hit the footpath."

"Coincidentally, Salman had a police constable with him at that time, given to him for his protection. There was a crowd and there were stones being thrown at the car, so the police constable took Salman away and brought him home, where his statements were recorded and then he was taken for alcohol test. So where is the question of running away?"

"Hit and run means when your car has hit someone and you choose to run away. Whether he was driving the car is still a question mark and I will not comment on that as the case is subjudice. But everybody who had come there at the time of the accident knew Salman and the boy who died were taken to the hospital", he added.
