Talking about superstar Salman Khan, Zareen Khan told Indian Express, ''Salman is not a mentor. It is because of him that I am an actress today. Had it not been for Salman, I wouldn't have been in the industry. I am very thankful to him that he made me a part of industry but I cannot be dependent on him or ride on his shoulders to get my work done.''

Zareen Khan further added, ''I am very happy that he's there whenever I am in any kind of trouble. I know that he is just a phone call away but that doesn't mean that I will call him everyday and bother him. He got me here and now I have to do things on my own."
When asked, 'Will she work with Salman Khan again?', Zareen Khan said, "He is a very busy person. Please ask him when you meet him when he will work with me but I am dying to work with him. I was a fan, is a fan and will be his fan forever."
On Hate Story 3, Zareen Khan said, ''Bhushan Kumar (T-series) is a friend. He called me and said that there is this amazing script and he would like to have me onboard. He was himself skeptical if I would do the bold scenes. So, he asked me to take the narration and then decide.''
''I was myself skeptical about doing the bold scenes and ate Vishal's (director) head by asking him to tell me in details about the bold scenes,'' the gorgeous actress said.

Zareen Khan told that she did not inform Salman Khan before signing the film, ''Salman didn't know for the longest that I am doing Hate Story 3. I was in fact scared to discuss this with him.''
Zareen Khan further added, ''Because I know his school of thought and I knew it would not be a great idea to discuss this with him. I am very scared of Salman and intimidated by him.''
