Will Akshay Kumar Agree To Play Late Wrestler-Actor Dara Singh On Screen?
The actor is in talks with Vindu Dara Singh for a biopic on the latter’s father who had won the title of 'Rustam-E-Punjab' and 'Rustam-e-Hind' for his wrestling prowess.
Films based on the sport of wrestling seems to be the latest fad in Bollywood. After Salman Khan's Sultan and Aamir Khan's Dangal, we hear that a biopic on late wrestler-actor Dara Singh is in the offering soon.
Buzz is that the makers are keen to cast Akshay Kumar in the film. However, the actor is yet to make up his mind. Vindu Dara Singh confirmed the development to Mid-day and said that Akshay is in two minds about doing the biopic.

He was quoted saying, "Yes, we have spoken to Akshay about the biopic. He hasn't heard the script yet. He knows we want him in the film. He is little confused, he is thinking. He is a very dedicated actor and whatever he does, he does from the heart."
He further added, "Akshay thinks he needs to bulk up for the role, I don't think so. I think he needs to be like what he was in 'Brothers' or may be ten per cent more. I think he will be wonderful as Dara Singh."
Earlier, there were lot of names thrown around, from Sangram Singh to Sonu Sood to John Abraham for the biopic. But Vindhu insists only he and his family can make it.
He said, "There are lot of people who want to do a film on him but they can't make it without our consent. Nobody can do a film on Dara Singh except us. He is our father; how can we just allow anyone to make the film."
Meanwhile, Akshay's upcoming films include Jolly LLB 2, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, 2.0, Crack and a film with R. Balki.
