After the debacle of his last outing Calendar Girls, Madhur Bhandarkar's next film titled Indu Sarkar is touted to be a drama revolving around the Emergency invoked by the Indira Gandhi-led government in 1975.

The film hit the shooting floors today and the director took to his Twitter handle to reveal the first teaser poster of the film...

Indu Sarkar stars Kirti Kulhari of 'Pink' fame and Neil Nitin Mukesh in a pivotal role. Reportedly Neil's character in the film is loosely based on Sanjay Gandhi.

Earlier Madhur, as a part of the film's preparation went on 'props hunting' in order to lend authenticity to the movie. He even met Subramanian Swamy and exchanged notes on Emergency with him. While the film has the name Indu in its title, it is believed that the movie will not have a direct reference to the late PM, Indira Gandhi.

We just can't wait to see yet another realistic, hard-hitting film from the director's stable.

Stay tuned for more updates.
