acquitted
Salman
Khan
for
the
Blackbuck
poaching
case
which
dragged
on
for
18
years
and
finally
declared
him
not
guilty
of
the
crrime,
and
is
now
a
free
man.
As
soon
as
the
news
was
out,
his
lady
love
Iulia
Vantur
visited
Salman's
residence,
and
also
his
sisters
Arpita
Khan
&
Alvira
Khan
rushed
to
his
house
to
greet
the
Sultan
star.

During
the
shoot
of
Sooraj
Barjatya's
'Hum
Saath
Saath
Hain'
in
1998,
Salman
Khan
and
seven
others
close
to
him
were
accused
of
killing
a
blackbuck
and
a
chinkara
in
two
separate
incidents.
However
Salman
Khan
kept
denying
that
he
was
involved
in
the
killing
of
the
endargered
species
and
the
case
went
on
for
close
to
two
decades.
One
of
the
animals
was
killed
at
Bhawad
on
the
outskirts
of
Jodhpur
on
September
26,
1998,
and
the
other
at
Ghoda
Farms
on
September
28,
1998.
The
issue
was
a
nation
wide
debate
and
Salman
Khan
was
slammed
for
his
senseless
actions
on
killing
the
animals.
Raj
Kumar
Rinwa,
Rajasthan's
Forests
and
Environment
Minister
was
quoted
as
saying
after
the
acquittal,
"We
will
study
the
court
order
today
and
then
the
forest
department
along
with
the
law
and
home
departments
will
decide
on
the
appeal
in
this
case."
