Rock On 2 Disaster! Javed Akhtar Blames Demonetisation!
Javed Akhtar blames demonetisation as the reason why Rock On 2 failed at the box office. Javed Akhtar said that people's spending capacity has come down drastically.
Rock On 2 ended up being a total disaster at the box office as there was no buzz, hype and craze among the people regarding the movie. The songs were terrible and the story lacked substance. The trailer of the film was also boring and failed to evoke any excitement among the masses.

demonetisation
as
the
sole
cause
for
its
pathetic
run
at
the
box
office.
"Rock
on
2
was
obviously
affected
by
demonetisation.
It
released
days
after
the
decision
was
taken
and
failed
to
do
well
because
84
percent
of
the
currency
was
banned
and
people
were
struggling."
He further commented, "Well I suppose the buying capacity and the spending capacity of an average citizen has become a bit shy that's for sure."
Well, in a way Javed Akhtar is right! Demonetisation has caused people to hold on to their hard earned cash as they prefer to use it for their daily expenses. On the other hand, Rock On 2 lacks the appeal of its prequel Rock On and that too is a major cause for the films failure.
