Bollywood actors like Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Diana Penty have expressed grief over Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's death, who breathed her last on Monday, December 5.

Amitabh Bachchan wrote on Twitter, "Jayalalitha ji the only CM of a State that celebrated 100 years of Indian Cinema .. from all regions .. most admirable.''

Shahrukh Khan too took to Twitter to express his views on the same, "Sad to hear of the passing away of Jayalalithaaji...May her soul rest in peace.''

Bollywood actress Diana Penty also offered her condolences on Twitter by writing, ''An iconic figure of Indian politics, 'The Iron Lady' #Jayalalithaa, passes away. May her soul rest in peace. #RipAmma.''

Singer Kailash Kher tweeted, "CM Jayalalithaa still lives in millions of heart. A politician with the soul of an artiste. May your soul rest in peace."

Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister Jayalalithaa died on Monday night after battling for life for 74 long days. She was 68.

"It is with indescribable grief, we announce the sad demise of our esteemed Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Puratchi Thalaivi Amma at 11.30 p.m.," Apollo Hospitals said in a statement.
