Rock On 2 Disaster! Arjun Rampal Blames It On Demonetisation
Arjun Rampal blames demonetisation for the failure of Rock On 2. Says people's purchasing power is now limited and that has hampered the business of Rock On 2.
Rock
On
was
one
of
the
biggest
superhits
of
2008
as
the
movie
was
totally
different
from
the
same
old
routine
Bollywood
romantic
movies.
Rock
On
won
the
audiences'
hearts
in
terms
of
both
the
storyline
and
the
songs
but
the
sequel
-
Rock
On
2
ended
up
being
a
complete
disaster
at
the
box
office
and
the
songs
are
terrible!
Arjun
Rampal
is
disappointed
about
the
outcome
of
the
movie
and
feels
that
demonetisation
is
the
root
cause
for
the
films
failure
as
people's
purchasing
power
has
become
limited
and
there
is
no
regular
cash
flow
on
their
hands.
"We
were
suddenly
staring
at
an
audience
with
zero
purchasing
power.
I
have
to
admit
we
panicked.
We
had
two
choices.
We
could
postpone
our
release
or
go
ahead
as
planned.
We
did
try
to
push
it
ahead.
But
it
was
not
possible.
We
had
to
release,
and
the
film
took
the
brunt
of
the
demonetisation.
But
no
regrets."
However,
Arjun
Rampal
came
out
in
support
of
Prime
Minister
Narendra
Modi
by
saying
that
it's
for
a
greater
cause
and
we
all
have
to
make
sacrifices
for
the
good
of
the
country.
"These
are
very
small
hardships
when
compared
with
the
long-term
benefits.
So
yeah,
our
Rock
On
2
took
a
beating
because
of
the
demonetisation.
But
for
the
larger
good,
we
need
to
make
sacrifices."
So
what
do
you
guys
think?
Did
Rock
On
2
fail
due
to
demonetisation
or
did
it
fail
as
the
songs
and
the
plot
were
not
up
to
the
mark?
