According to some early audience review from the overseas show, the movie is decent and a great one time watch. From the trailer it was quite clear that Shivaay will be an out and out action film but the story also has a very emotional angle attached to it. The film is basically about a man's fight for his family.

Talking about the movie, Ajay Devgn told a leading daily, ''There is no religion (angle in the film). I am not portraying Shiva. If you see my lines also, 'jiske bheetar basa Shivaay', (means) who has Shiva in his heart. In the film also, he is not sitting and meditating and praying. He has got tattoos of Shiva all over his body and he is called Shivaay in the film.''

Ajay Devgn further added, "The thought is, man who believes in the supernatural power. Shiva, I feel, is the only God which also connects to today's youth. Every other God is flawless, Shiva is the only god with all the flaws.''

Now let's talk about the big box office clash. Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is all set to give Shivaay a big competition at the box office as both the movies have released today (28th October). But only time will tell that who would win the box office race.
