Alia Bhatt had admitted in the past that Sidharth Malhotra was a very special person in her life but had never accepted that she was dating him. Recently, in a candid chat Sidharth Malhotra opened up about his relationship and said that she was more than a friend. The actor also revealed the reason behind hiding his affair.
Sidharth Malhotra told Mid-day, ''Alia and I have a terrific bond because of the number of films we have done together. We have been friends for a long time. Over the years, we have gone beyond being just colleagues and friends. Since I didn't grow up in and around the film industry, the rumours and the attention towards my personal life is something I am still struggling to come to terms with. I take it with a pinch of salt because it is part and parcel of being a Bollywood actor.''

''But, I was the chosen one who made it big from among lakhs of common people, who lust to be a part of the glam world. I am never intimidated by colleagues or friends, be it Alia or Varun Dhawan. I don't envy their choices or their success. I am selfish like that. I care only about my work and whether I am better than my last film. As actors, our only focus should be on improving our craft," Sidharth Malhotra revealed.
