This Is How A.R Rahman Felt While Remixing 'Hamma Hamma' For OK Jaanu!
The song 'Hamma Hamma' which was composed by A.R Rahman was remixed for Shraddha & Aditya's OK Jaanu & A.R Rahman opened up about how he felt while remixing the track.
The
film
Bombay
which
released
in
the
year
1995,
was
a
blockbuster
hit
and
musical
maestro
A.R
Rahman
delivered
stellar
soundtracks
which
got
people
mesmerized.
One
song
which
has
got
people
humming
even
after
two
decades
is
the
track
'Hamma
Hamma'
and
is
considrered
one
of
the
golden
songs
from
A.R
Rahman.
Hamma
Hamma
was
then
remixed
for
Shraddha
Kapoor
and
Aditya
Roy
Kapur's
OK
Jaanu
and
quite
a
lot
of
people
disliked
the
newer
version
of
the
song
and
considered
it
as
an
insult
to
the
original
classic.
The
music
for
both
Bombay
and
OK
Jaanu
was
composed
by
A.R
Rahman
and
when
asked
if
he
felt
happy
remixing
the
original
classic,
he
said,
"I
wasn't
happy
with
the
idea,
initially.
I
was
really
hesitant
about
it
at
the
start...
But
Shaad
(the
film's
director)
was
insistent.
He
kept
on
asking
if
we
could
use
the
song.
So
I
asked
Tanishk
to
come
up
with
the
first
four
bars
of
the
song,
and
I
kind
of
liked
the
beat.
It
sounded
good
and
a
bit
different."
Singer
Remo
Fernandes,
who
sang
the
original
track
back
in
1995
came
down
heavily
on
the
new
version
of
the
song
by
saying,
"The
song
is
a
pale,
insipid
version
of
the
original."
