After Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor & Sanjay Leela Bhansali To Team Up For 'Tuesdays & Fridays'?
Lately, the grapevine is abuzz with the news that Shahid Kapoor and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are teaming up for one more film post Padmavati.
Shahid Kapoor is working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the first time for the much-talked about Padmavati. Now, if reports are to be believed then the 'Rangoon' actor has apparently bagged another biggie with the maverick director.
Buzz is that Sanjay has roped in Shahid for a film titled Tuesdays And Fridays that will be produced by Bhansali Productions. Well, the title sounds quite interesting, doesn't it? The film is touted to be a light-heart romance with lots of dancing, and Sanjay feels Shahid Kapoor is the perfect choice for it.
A Mid-day report quoted an insider as saying, "It is the kind of film Shahid should be doing. It's what his fans want to see him in. It is a light-heart rom-com with a lot of dancing. It's the kind of film that his audiences have always loved. He has heard the script and liked it. He is getting a final narration and soon after, he might sign it. SLB is producing the film, and it will be directed by a new director." It will be a welcome change to watch Shahid in a romantic comedy after back-to-back intense films.
The source further added, "The film is titled Tuesdays And Fridays. It's the kind of film Shahid needs after a taxing film like Rangoon. He has been wanting to do a commercial film that connects with the masses and the classes, unlike Shaandaar, which was too nice and didn't connect with anyone. Shahid is returning to this genre after a long break. He has been trying to woo back audiences. And this is the space that has always worked for him."
Interestingly, recently Shahid during a Twitter chat had revealed that he now wants to steer away from serious cinema for sometime and would love to do a dancing flick after Padmavati. Guess, this could be the film for him.
We hear that this film was initially offered to Vicky Kaushal who has signed a three-film deal with SLB Productions. The female lead is yet to be finalised, but Kiara Advani who was last seen in Machine is a strong contender for the film.
