Release Date Of Akshay Kumar's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha Pushed Ahead To August

Yes, you heard it right! The release date of Akshay Kumar- Bhumi Pednekar's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha has been pushed ahead to 12th August, 2017- the same day when Imtiaz Ali's next starring Shahrukh Khan and Anushka Sharma.

A Consecutive Box Office Clash With A Star For Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan's last film Raees had locked horns with Hrithik Roshan's romantic thriller at the box office in January and the result was a divided business at the ticket windows. Prior to that, SRK's Dilwale had clashed with Ranveer-Deepika-Priyanka starrer Bajirao Mastani; out of which the latter emerged a big winner both in terms of accolades and economics.

Akshay Kumar's Golden Run At The Box Office

Akshay Kumar and Shahrukh Khan are big names in Bollywood and has always been crowdpullers when it comes to films. But lately, it's Akshay out of the two who is having the last laugh when it comes to box office numbers. He has been delivering hits and hits. On the other hand, Shahrukh Khan's last two films Raees and Dilwale didn't exactly translate into huge box office figures.

Both The Films Belong To Different Genre

Akshay's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is a satirical take on on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's project Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The project aims at cleaning the streets and roads and the film will portray the loopholes of how it has been taken. Meanwhile, reports suggest that Imtiaz's film traces the life of Anushka's character, who plays a free spirited tourist who falls in love with her guide (Shahrukh Khan) while travelling with him across Europe, looking for her lost engagement ring.
