Athiya Shetty's debut film Hero failed to set the cash registers ringing at the box office. After a sabbatical of two years, she is back with her second film Mubarakan.

At a recent media interaction, when asked if she is nervous about her upcoming flick, Athiya said, " When you are busy with promotions, you don't realize how time flies by. I feel like I have just started filming and suddenly it's time for release. I am also a little sad because I feel that this journey will be over. I am an emotional person. I get attached to things. This film is my second film so I got attached to it. But I am really excited. I just want people to see the madness in Mubarakan. It's a comedy with a heart and a soul. It will make you laugh and cry a little bit. The characters are super funny. It's very relatable."

She further added, "For me, Mubarakan is such a film where you can't overpower each other. Each and every character is very important in the story. You can't have a Mubarakan without any of them. All the characters are so different from each other that you can't compare them. You can't overshadow any one in a film like this. It's so well written that your character speaks for itself."

On sharing screen space with Anil Kapoor, she quipped, "Working with him was outstanding. I feel I have learnt so much. It was like a masterclass.

When quizzed if she was disheartened when her debut film Hero failed to work it's charm, Athiya said, "Now when I look back, it wasn't that bad, I mean two newcomers making 30 crore film is fair enough! What I feel sad about is that you want all your films to work but at the end of the day you have to let audience decide the fate of the movie. But whatever it might be, I will still do a Hero 100 times over.

I feel that's one film which will always remain in my heart because it was my first film. It is said that your first film chooses you and I am so glad that Hero chose me."

Talking about the possibility of doing a film with dad Suniel Shetty, she added, "I do take advice from my father and takes his opinion very seriously. He is my biggest critic. To hear praises from him is rare because he is so critical about my work. Definitely right now there is no chance of me and my father doing a film as there's time for everything also I am far too new to hold myself as an actor before I can share screen space with him. Also Anil sir and Arjun waited for the perfect time and I think Mubarakan is their right film."

Directed by Anees Bazmi, Mubarakan is slated to release this week.
