Akshay
Kumar
is
all
set
to
be
seen
in
yet
another
patriotic
film
titled
'Gold'
and
this
time
the
storyline
will
not
deal
with
the
navy
or
airlifting
people
to
safety
but
instead
it's
a
film
based
on
the
life
of
Balbir
Singh,
the
Indian
Hockey
Team
Captain
who
won
three
successive
gold
medals
at
the
Olympics
between
1948
and
1956.
Kunal
Kapoor
has
now
joined
the
hockey
team
in
Gold
and
would
star
alongside
Vicky
Kaushal's
younger
brother
Sunny
Kaushal
as
a
team
member.
Akshay
will
play
the
role
of
Balbir
Singh.
A
source
close
to
the
movie
was
quoted
as
saying,
"The
actor
will
be
training
for
five-six
months
before
he
begins
shooting
so
that
he
can
pull
off
the
part
of
a
professional
hockey
player.
The
film
is
expected
to
go
on
floors
by
July
or
August
this
year."
So
the
shoot
of
Gold
will
go
on
floors
only
by
July-August
and
until
then,
all
the
stars
are
learning
hockey
so
that
they
can
pull
off
their
roles
with
ease
and
look
like
real
professional
hockey
players.
Also,
the
film
is
set
in
the
timeline
between
1948
and
1956
and
we're
all
excited
to
see
how
proudly
our
players
won
three
successive
gold
medals
at
the
Olympics.
Apart
from
Gold,
Akshay
Kumar
is
currently
shooting
for
Padman
and
has
completed
shooting
for
his
upcoming
film
Toilet:
Ek
Prem
Katha
where
he'll
be
seen
alongside
Bhumi
Pednekar.
The
film
also
stars
Sana
Khan
in
a
prominent
role
as
his
secret
girlfriend.
