Film director SS Rajamouli says the character of Baahubali from his hit franchise was written only for southern star Prabhas, whose performance has been lauded.
He also says that he asked Prabhas to give one or one and a half year to Baahubali but the film took five years to complete and Prabhas was there with him.

Prabhas was there even before the makers started writing the characters.
Baahubali Was Written For Prabhas
"I mean we took Anushka or Sivagami or Kattapa, we took the actors based on the characters that were written, but with Prabhas, the character was written for him," he said.
