Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai make an amazing pair on screen but the year 2000 saw something different as the duo played the role of siblings in the movie Josh. The film was one of a kind and was shot in Goa and also starred Chandrachur Singh and Sharad Kapoor and ended up being a superhit at the box office. Aishwarya Rai opened up by saying that Salman Khan was first offered to play the role of his brother and Aamir Khan was offered to play the role of Chandrachur Singh.
Aishwarya Rai opened up to Bollywood Hungama by saying, "I think the cast was meant to be Aamir (Khan) and Salman (Khan) at one point and eventually it became Shahrukh and I think Aamir (Khan) at some point was to play Chandrachur (Singh)'s role. So the cast kept changing at different points of time but Sherly remained Sherly. So I had said yes to Mansoor (Khan)."
Salman Khan As Aishwarya Rai's Sister
We got to see Shahrukh Khan play the love interest of Aishwarya Rai in Mohabbatein and other movies and also saw them as siblings in Josh. Now imagine for a second if Salman Khan would have played Aishwarya's sibling in the movie! Yes, it feels uneasy, right? No wonder Salman Khan didn't take up the role.
Kajol Was Approached Too
Director Mansoon Khan had previously stated that Shirly's role was first offered to Kajol, but she turned it down and later Aishwarya Rai grabbed the role with both her arms and made the most out of it.
Josh was such a cult movie back then and we hope the film-makers will come up with a sequel sooner or later. The story connected so well with the audiences and the songs were a hit too.
Aishwarya Rai As Sherly Dias
