Anirban Blah, the co-founder of Kwan Entertainment which is one of the biggest celebrity management agencies in India, allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge in Navi Mumbai.

Anirban Blah, the co-founder of Kwan Entertainment which is one of the biggest celebrity management agencies in India, allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge in Navi Mumbai. The incident happened at around 12.30 am when traffic police got a tip-off about the alleged suicide.

He was rescued by the traffic police after they found him on Vashi old bridge, where he was allegedly trying to kill himself. Blah was seen climbing on the barricades of the bridge when the police caught hold of him and made him get down.

Anirban was recently asked to step down from his post in the company after few women accused him of sexual harassment as a part of the ongoing #MeToo Compaign on social media. He reportedly attempted suicide after being asked to "step aside" by Kwan.

One of the women alleged that Anirban invited her to his home in Mumbai for an interview and then asked her to strip. Another woman accused him of asking her to come to his hotel suite as "casting is done in bedrooms and not in public spaces". A third woman alleged that Blah had asked her if she would be willing to be part of an "unnatural sex setup". Another actor alleged that Blah attempts "a systematic breakdown of confidence" of women by sexually harassing them.

A Hindu report quoted a senior police inspector from Vashi traffic as saying, "We had information about an individual coming towards Vashi bridge to commit suicide. We couldn't take chance and we laid a trap there in dark."

"He was crying. He seemed very frustrated and depressed. We took him to the police chowky, offered him water and asked his problem to which he said that he was frustrated with the #Metoo allegations on him. He was depressed due to the defamation he and his family faced. He along with nine other partners had founded KWAN and after four girls alleged him of harrasment in #Metoo campaign, he was asked to resign," the inspector further said.

Senior Police Inspector Anil Deshmukh further added, "The traffic police handed him to us but we haven't charged him as he has not done any (suicidal) act. He told us that he had come for a walk at the bridge. After his family reached, we handed him over to them."

The traffic police informed his wife and he was handed over to the Vashi Police thereafter.

Later, Times Of India shared what they claim to be a suicide note that was apparently sent to a TOI staff member. As per their report, it was their tip-off to the police that saved Anirban's life. Here's what the note read-

"Without trying to justify any of my actions, I just want to say that I have tried to be the best person I can be. I didn't have the strength to cope with what happened to me as a child in a healthy way. I never was able to separate sex from power, to make it a part of love, and somewhere along the way one part of me turned into a monster.

Maybe ... I am bipolar. Because I know how much love I have to give. To my friends and to my family to everyone. I have tried to be the best friend I can and the best colleague and the best person I can. But unfortunately the monster inside me keeps resurfacing and I've tried to bury him and kill him but I can't.

I wasn't good enough. And I am the only one to blame ... I know no one believes me, but that monster was a part of me, and there was goodness and kindness in me.
To anyone I may have hurt, I am sorry. This isn't revenge for you. This is justice.

You should just know that the stories you hear are worse than the truth but whatever the truth, it still makes me a monster in my own eyes. Know though that this monster has this part of him that is pure still, and that my love for you is so great that I cannot forgive myself the hurt I have caused you. There are no justifications. You deserved better.

You will find my body somewhere near Vashi creek. My licence will be with me as identification plus my tattoo. I am wearing blue jeans and a t shirt. The monster inside me has won against the other part of me for too long, it's time to kill it once and for all."

As per the latest development, Anirban is currently undergoing treatment at a trust-run hospital in Byculla.
