Chitrangada Singh: I Believe In Tanushree Dutta, I Also Want To Hear What Nana Patekar Has To Say
Chitrangada Singh opened up about the #MeToo movement by saying that she believes in Tanushree Dutta's claims and wants to hear what Nana Patekar has to say.
The
#MeToo
movement
has
taken
the
country
by
storm
as
several
men
in
the
industry
have
been
accused
of
sexual
harassment.
From
big
names
such
as
Nana
Patekar
to
Sajid
Khan
and
Subhash
Ghai,
the
hammer
has
hit
hard
on
their
heads
and
going
by
the
trends,
there
would
be
many
more
skeletons
tumbling
out
of
the
closet
pretty
soon.
Also,
Chitrangada
Singh,
who
recenly
accused
Nawazuddin
Siddiqui
of
being
a
mute
spectator
while
she
was
harassed
on
the
set
of
Babumoshai
Bandookbaaz,
opened
up
by
saying
that
the
#MeToo
movement
is
not
about
male
bashing,
but
the
movement
is
for
men
as
well.
She
also
stated
that
she
believes
Tanushree
Dutta's
version
of
the
story
and
has
doubts
about
Nana
Patekar
as
he's
still
not
given
his
version
of
the
story.
I
Believe
In
Tanushree
Dutta
"I
believe
her(Tanushree).
I
want
to
hear
what
Nana
has
to
say.
But
my
only
take
on
this...
and
I
am
not
only
saying
this
for
Tanushree...
is
that
if
there
is
truth,
then
it
must
be
heard.
It
doesn't
matter
whether
she
came
out
after
three
years
or
five
years
or
ten
years," she
said
to
IANS.
We
Have
To
Listen
To
Tanushree!
"If
there
was
rape
or
molestation
or
any
kind
of
harassment
--
whether
it
happened
now
or
five
years
before,
and
if
the
person
is
choosing
to
talk
about
it
now,
you
have
to
listen
to
her.
It
doesn't
make
that
rape
or
molestation
or
assault
or
harassment
any
less," added
the
actress.
The
#MeToo
Movement
Is
For
Men
As
Well
"It
is
not
at
all
about
men
versus
woman.
It
is
about
making
our
society
safe.
It
is
not
male
bashing
at
all.
#MeToo
movement
is
for
men
as
well."
#MeToo
Is
Not
About
Men
Vs
Women
"It
is
because
somewhere
men
feel
that
they
need
to
be
defensive.
It
is
not
about
men
versus
women.
They
should
feel
an
ownership
of
the
fact
that
if
she
is
saying
the
right
thing,
we
need
to
stand
with
her.
Just
stand
with
the
right."
