Deepika Padukone To Return In The Next 'xXx' Film, Confirms Director DJ Caruso!

Deepika Padukone, as Serena Unger, will be back for another adventure in Vin Diesel-starrer "xXx" franchise, director DJ Caruso confirmed on Monday. The director mentioned on Twitter that the fourth film in the franchise will also star the Chinese singer Roy Wang, welcoming him to the franchise.

An Indian fan wrote back asking whether Deepika will be a part of the film, Caruso replied with a "yes" and added that they were working on the script of the same. "xXx: Return of Xander Cage" marked Padukone's Hollywood debut.

In May, Caruso had expressed a desire to shoot a Bollywood-style dance number, featuring Padukone, for the end credits of his upcoming film. "I want to end xXx 4' with a Bollywood dance song. Led of course by @deepikapadukone. Lungi Dance? Something new," Caruso had tweeted.

In xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, Deepika Padukone was seen opposite Vin Diesel. Directed by DJ Caruso, the action-packed thriller also starred Samuel L Jackson, Ruby Rose, Nina Dobrev and Jet Li. Earlier, while promoting the film, Deepika had candidly confessed her nervousness on entering a new territory and had said, "But most importantly I feel proud to be a part of a film where I get to flaunt my ethnicity. The reason they are roping me is because of my ethnicity. I really hope that I do well in the movie and people go and watch it."
