Deepika's dad also talked about how he took the rumours of 'Deepika's affair' and while responding to that question, Prakash Padukone also admitted that it was 'tough' to read about her link-ups. In an interview with India Today, Prakash said, "Initially, we found it difficult. But nowadays, we're used to it. Some of it - what is being reported is true, but some of it is absolutely not correct. But it is a part and parcel of... you can't have only good things. One has to accept it."

Prakash Padukone also revealed that Deepika had always shown interest in modelling. "It's important for parents to realise that there's a difference between liking and being passionate about something. She liked badminton, but her first love was modeling."

Speaking about the same, Deepika said, "There was never any pressure to play badminton. I liked and enjoyed it as a hobby, but I don't think I put enough effort into it."

"I used to go shoot for ads on the weekends, as a child. My friend's mother would say that I should do modeling, and my mother used to say, 'Please don't put ideas into her head.'"

"It was very very exciting. Today, when I think about the decision that I made when I was 18, I sometimes have that moment when I think 'Wow. How did I even make that decision and how did I not realise that how big decision it was at that time. But at that time, it was very easy," said Deepika.
However, Her Dad Prakash Padukone Admitted That It Was A Tough Time For Him As A Dad
"It was extremely difficult for us. We were very nervous because she was not even 18. She didn't have a place to stay. She was moving into a new field. At that time we felt she was too young to move out. But now when I look back, I think she did the right thing. Because in that profession, you need to start early," said Mr Padukone.
