Mulk
director
Anubhav
Sinha
has
been
at
the
receiving
end
from
trolls
who
accuse
him
of
making
a
movie
to
please
a
particular
community
and
if
that
was
not
enough,
the
trollers
even
went
ahead
stating
the
movie
is
secretly
funded
by
underworld
don
Dawood
Ibrahim
and
some
even
suggested
that
the
Congress
party
has
a
hand
in
funding
the
film.
However,
Anubhav
Sinha
denied
all
of
those
allegations
and
despite
of
his
denials,
the
trollers
have
latched
on
to
him
saying
that
he's
running
a
propaganda
machine.
The
sad
part
is
that
the
trolls
have
taken
over
the
IMDB
ratings
of
Mulk
and
given
poor
ratings,
making
the
movie
3.5
out
of
10.
The
director
pointed
out
that
paid
trolls
are
behind
the
poor
IMDB
ratings
and
tweeted,
"The
IMDB
rating
of
Mulk
is
being
attacked.
Mulk
has
received
too
much
love
to
worry
about
that.
There
are
more
people
who
love
the
film.
They
will
respond
to
you."
His
post
has
turned
into
a
battleground
of
sorts
in
the
comments
section,
as
several
users
have
mercilessly
turned
against
him
with
the
mosty
vile
comments
ever.
A
user
wrote
Anubhav
Sinha
has
no
talent
as
a
film-maker
and
is
only
surviving
through
controversy
to
sell
his
film.
"When
a
filmmaker
has
a
trite
script,
poor
direction,
propaganda
and
lack
confidence,
all
he
thrives
on
his
controversies,
paid

money."
Another
user
wrote,
"Ratings
don't
matter
when
you
have
touched
the
hearts
of
citizens."
Mulk,
starring
Rishi
Kapoor
and
Taapsee
Pannu,
became
a
hot
topic
as
soon
as
the
trailer
was
out
and
snowballed
into
a
major
controversy
after
its
release
and
it
looks
like
the
trolls
will
not
rest
until
the
movie
is
out
of
the
theatres.
It's
close
to
a
week
now
after
its
release
on
August
3,
2018,
and
Anubhav
Sinha
is
having
a
tough
time
in
dealing
with
the
trollers
and
hatred.
However,
Anubhav
Sinha
has
stood
his
ground
and
repeatedly
lashed
out
at
the
trollers
and
called
them
out
for
spreading
hatred
in
the
name
of
religion,
while
his
movie
is
all
about
promoting
friendship
between
the
two
religions.
