Ranveer-Deepika Wedding: Italian Sikh Organisation Alleges Sikh Code Of Conduct Was Violated

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone got hitched in a dreamy wedding last week at Lake Como in Italy. The power couple tied the knot as per Konkani and Sindhi traditions and their wedding pictures broke the internet. But it seems like they didn't follow the diktat for the Anand Karaj ceremony or so claims an Italian Sikh organisation.

An Italian Sikh organisation has alleged that the Sikh code of conduct was violated during the Anand Karaj ceremony as the Akal Takht strictly prohibits taking Guru Granth Sahib to a place other than Gurudwara.

A Tribune report stated that Akal Takht acting Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh said the matter would be taken up with the five high priests as and when a complaint was received.

Ranveer and Deepika's two-day wedding functions took place at Villa del Balbianello, overlooking Lake Como, on November 14-15. The Anand Karaj (Sikh wedding ceremony) was performed in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib, which was shifted from the Brescia gurdwara to the wedding villa 150 km away.

Meanwhile, Ranveer and Deepika landed in India yesterday where they received a warm welcome by the media and their fans who flocked to the airport to catch a glimpse of the newly weds. Amidst all the chaos at the airport, Ranveer was the dutiful husband who protected his wife, Deepika Padukone, as they walked towards their car.

Ranveer and Deepika will be hosting one reception in Bengaluru for their close friends and family on 21st November and two more in Mumbai- 28th November for their social circle and on 1st December for their industry friends.
