Shakeela Biopic: The First Look Logo Of This Richa Chadha Starrer Looks Edgy!

After Vidya Balan's portrayal of Silk Smitha, we have Richa Chadha bringing alive the story of adult film star Shakeela on the big screen with Indrajit Lankesh's Shakeela biopic. The film is based on the real life story of Shakeela, 90s adult film star who started with small roles and turned into a massive superstar. Her career at a point was so envious that male superstars of the era would fear of their films releasing alongside a Shakeela film.

Recently, the makers unveiled the first look logo of the film which is quite eye-catching. Have a look at it here-

Shakeela To Do A Cameo In Her Biopic

Before commencing the shooting, Richa had a rendezvous with Shakeela in Bangalore to under the nuances from real Shakeela herself. Seeing the camaraderie between both the actors and also to honour Shakeela's popularity Indrajeet roped in real Shakeela for a cameo in the film.

"I am not going to put on weight to play Shakeela, as I feel that aspect is quite superficial. The film is about one woman standing up for herself in a male-dominated society and being targeted for being successful. It doesn't It doesn't really dwell upon her films per se but the ups and downs in her life. I wanted to meet her in person because I wanted her to trust me. When an actor plays a real person, there's a huge responsibility as we represent that person," Richa was earlier quoted as saying.

Steering away from the stereotypical image that Shakeela has in minds of people of being a soft porn actor, the film challenges the audiences and is set to give them the depth story of the woman behind the phenomenon of an unlikely superstar.

The biopic promises to delve into her life, her growing up years, her influences which director Indrajit Lankesh has tried to bring to the table.

With Richa Chadha playing the title role, we just can't wait to watch yet another power-packed act from her end.
