Taanaji: Kajol To Share Screen Space With Ajay Devgn After Eight Years; Here's All The Details
After a gap of eight years, Ajay Devgn and Kajol will be reuniting on-screen for Om Raut's Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior. The actress kick-started shooting for the film yesterday.
Ajay Devgn and Kajol's chemistry reflects not just in real life, but on the celluoid as well. One of the most loved pairs of Bollywood, the couple has worked together in films like Gundaraj, Hulchul, Ishq, Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Thha, Dil Kya Kare, U, Me Aur Hum amongst others. They last worked together on Toonpur Ka Superhero.
Since then, all their fans have been eagerly waiting for them to reunite on screen. Well folks, here's some good news. We now have it that Kajol has been confirmed to star in Ajay Devgn's Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior.
Kajol Kick-Started The Shoot Yesterday
A DNA report quoted a source as saying, "Kajol has begun shooting in Mumbai from yesterday. When she was approached for the film, she felt it's the perfect script for her, since she already has a strong Marathi base."

We hear that Kajol will be seen as a pillar of strength to Ajay Devgn's character as his wife in the film.
Kajol & Ajay Wanted To Do A Film Together
The source further added, "Kajol and Ajay had been wanting to do a film for a long time. They kept getting fan mail and messages to reunite on screen. So, when Om was thinking of a heroine for the part, he immediately asked Ajay to bounce the idea off to Kajol."
Meanwhile, Saif Will Be Playing An Anti-Hero In This Film
Speaking to Mumbai Mirror, the actor had shared, "I respect Ajay and like the way, he looks at life. I'm happy to be a part of this huge historical which will be a screen extravaganza, a post- Baahubali kind of experience in 3D. Ajay loves cinema, is a great producer, and this is the right film to make today as it highlights patriotism and heroism. Kids will love it, so will the rest of the country."
He refused to divulge details about his role but added, "Let's just call him an anti-hero. It's a cool part and I've already started shooting."
Helmed by Om Raut, Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior has Ajay Devgn essaying the role of Maratha leader Subedar Taanaji Malusare who reconquered the fortress of Kondana in the Battle of Sinhagad in 1670 with the help of his pet monitor lizard.
The period war film will be hitting the big screens in 2019.
