Tanushree Dutta stated her disappointment that top actresses in Bollywood did not support the #MeToo movement and they gave themselves over to their ambitions.

Tanushree Dutta kicked up a storm all over the country and gave voice to the #MeToo moment by accusing Nana Patekar of sexual harassment on the sets of Horn OK Please in 2008 and said that when she turned down his unruly advances, Nana called up goons from a political party and vandalised her car and threatened her with dire consequences. Several actresses such as Chitrangada Singh, Swara Bhaskar, Richa Chadha, Radhika Apte, Shilpa Shetty and others spoke out against sexual harassment and supported the #MeToo movement, but the A-list actresses chose to remain silent about the controversy.
