Shahid Kapoor Reveals His Reaction While Watching Nani's 'Jersey': 'I Cried Four Times'

Recently at the red carpet of Star Screen Awards, Shahid Kapoor spoke about his upcoming film 'Jersey'.

Shahid Kapoor's last release, 'Kabir Singh' turned out to be a huge commercial success at the box office. The film was a Hindi remake of Vijay Deverakonda's 'Arjun Reddy'. Now, the actor is all set to star in yet another remake. Shahid will be stepping into South actor Nani's shoes for the Hindi version of the Telugu hit 'Jersey'.

Shahid's film will be helmed by Gowtam Tinnanauri, who helmed the original movie as well. The movie revolves around a talented but failed cricketer, who decides to return to the field in his late 30s, driven by the desire to represent the Indian cricket team and fulfil his son's wish for a jersey.

Recently at the red carpet of the Star Screen Awards, Shahid Kapoor opened up about the Hindi remake of the film and here's what he had to say.

"I wanted to do an original film so that people don't think I'm doing only remakes. But when I saw the film, it touched my heart. I cried four times while watching it. The character isn't like Kabir Singh. He's a quiet, introvert man but his intensity and journey was inspiring for me," the actor told reporters.
