Sushant's Death Case: Shibani Dandekar Stands Up For Rhea Chakraborty; Asks 'What Was Her Crime'

After Rhea Chakraborty's interview on national television in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, many celebrities have been standing up for the actress. Recently, Taapsee Pannu, Swara Bhasker, Lakshmi Manchu and Vidya Balan slammed Rhea's media trials in Sushant's case. Now, Shibani Dandekar has penned a note on her Instagram page to seek justice for Rhea Chakraborty.

In her post, Shibani questioned the "torture" of Rhea and her family by the media after Sushant's death. She further wrote that she saw how Rhea's mother's health deteriorated post allegations levelled against the actress, and that Rhea's brother Showik Chakraborty was forced to grow up.

Shibani, who has known Rhea since her days as a video jockey, wrote, "I've known Rhea Chakraborty since she was 16 years old! Vibrant, strong and vivacious..such a bright spark..so full of life! I've witnessed such a stark contrast to this side of her personality over the last few months as her and her family (some of the kindest warmest best people you will ever meet) have experienced the most unimaginable trauma!"

She continued, "We have watched the media behave like complete vultures on a witch-hunt, vilifying and torturing an innocent family to breaking point! Her basic human rights taken away as the media play judge, jury and executioner! We have seen the death of journalism and a frightening side of humanity! What was her crime? She loved a boy, looked after him through his darkest days, put her life on hold to be there for him and when he took his own life, she was crucified. What have we become?"
