In the last few weeks, many Bollywood celebrities like Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam, Aditya Dhar, Kangana Ranaut and others have reacted to The Kashmir Files and its success at the box office.

Recently, at the trailer launch of Ajay Devgn's upcoming directorial Runway 34, a journalist referring to The Kashmir Files, asked the superstar whether films based on real stories are the best means to connect with the audience in recent times.

Reacting to the question, the Maidaan actor said, "It's not like that. And it's not happening just in India, but the rest of the world as well. I have done biographical films like The Legend of Bhagat Singh. When you hear stories, some of them are so inspirational. Sometimes, the truth is so amazing that you can't write fiction like that."

He further added, "The idea is not to find true incidents to make a film. When you hear such a true story, you feel that the world must know about it. And that's why we pick it up. Otherwise we write our own films and make it."

Speaking about Runway 34, the film marks Ajay Devgn's returns to direction after the 2016 film Shivaay. The film also features Amitabh Bachchan, Rakul Preet Singh, Boman Irani and Angira Dhar in key roles. Runway 34 is reportedly based on the true story of an emergency landing of a Jet Airways Doha-Kochi flight (9W-555) in 2015.
