The Kashmir Files: Anupam Kher's Niece Recalls Shooting The Gruesome Climax; Reveals Bhasha Sumbli Broke Down
Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files has struck a chord with people from all generations. With its bold story-telling depicting the atrocities faced by the Kashmiri Pandit community in the valley in 1990, it has left the nation shocked and shaken.

The film is also being hailed for the powerful performances delivered by the star cast on screen. But, it wasn't easy for them since the film deals with a very sensitive topic.
Anupam Kher's niece Vrinda who marked her acting debut with this film, opened up on shooting the gruesome climax of the film in her recent chat with Times Now. Vrinda essayed the role of Bhawani Kaul, a Kashmiri Pandit who gets displaced in the film.
The climax sequence of The Kashmir Files shows Bhasha Sumbli's character Sharda getting tortured by the terrorists after they infiltrate a migrant camp in the disguise of soldiers dressed in combat uniforms. The makers also recreated the Nadimarg massacre where 24 Kashmiri Pandits were killed.
Vrinda told the news portal, "The climax scene, in which Bitta tears off Sharda's clothes was particularly hard for all of us. Bhasha broke down and it was very hard for her to be part of that scene. So, all the emotions that came out on screen were actually real. To imagine that someone actually went through this was very difficult."
Besides acting in the film, Vrinda was also a part of the direction and the production team. The debutante said that she was fortunate to be on the sets from the beginning and till the end of the shoot.
She added that she was lucky that she got to watch Anupam Kher in action which was a learning for her. Vrinda said, "One thing he always says is that just believe who you are, be the character and just live in the moment, and don't over-rehearse. I tried to follow that."
The Kashmir Files is currently having a successful run in cinema halls.
