Ranveer Singh enjoys immense popularity and has proven his versatility over the years. However, his last releases have failed tremendously at the box office. Ranveer's movies post-pandemic have failed to impress movie-goers.

Made on a budget of 225 to 270 crores, the 2021 release, 83 failed to leave a mark at the box office and managed to earn only 193 crores. Jayeshbhai Jordaar in 2022 also proved to be a box-office dud. And his last release, Cirkus also not admired by the viewers. While Jayeshbhai Jordaar earned 16 crores, Cirkus minted 35.65 at the domestic ticket window.

YRF DECIDES NOT TO SIGN FILMS WITH RANVEER SINGH: REPORTS

A report in Bollywood Hungama states that Aditya Chopra and his core team are heavily invested in the Spy Universe, and they cannot afford to make an error as all their films are high budget. A source revealed to the entertainment portal, "A lot is at stake as each film is going to be heavily budgeted and hence, there can't be room for error. Each film needs utmost concentration, right from pre-production to the last mile release."

Ranveer Singh in his career did six movies with YRF, of which only one was not a flop. "In such a scenario, a film with Ranveer Singh is the last thing on their mind. Of course, they'll be making non-Spy Universe films too. But of the 6 films that Ranveer has done with YRF, only one film was not a flop. And that's Gunday (2014). This film, too, was a semi-hit. Band Baaja Baaraat, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl (2011) and Befikre (2016) were average grossers. Kill Dil (2014) and Jayeshbhai Jordaar, meanwhile, flopped," the source added.

The source also added that six of box-office returns of six of the films with YRF were in red, it only earned money with OTT and satellite rights. "It's also important to note that while these 6 films made money due to the sale of OTT and satellite rights, the box office returns were in the red for Yash Raj Films," the source added.
