Aamir Khan On Violence In Films: Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor released this Friday, December 1, has already turned out to be a hit at the box office. However, the film has been receiving heavy criticism for promoting excessive violence and misogynistic themes.
Meanwhile, amid Animal's release, an old video of actor Aamir Khan is going viral on social media, in which he is seen condemning how filmmakers use violence and sex to provoke audiences.
Aamir Khan slams filmmakers for using excessive violence and s*x
A 1-minute-long video clip that surfaced on Reddit showed Aamir talking about how violence and sex are the strongest emotions and can provoke youth in the wrong way. He can be heard saying, "There are few emotions that are very easy to provoke in the audience. Violence is one such emotion and sex is another."
He goes on to say, "These are two emotions which are most easy to provoke in a human being. Those directors who are not very talented in creating a story, in showing emotions or creating situations, they depend heavily on sex and violence to make their films work. They think that if we put excessive violence and sex, their films will be successful. I believe it's a wrong thinking process. There's a possibility that they may become successful at times but it harms society very much."
