Satish Kaushik Funeral HIGHLIGHTS: Actor-Filmmaker Cremated; Anupam Kher Inconsoable

Satish Kaushik was laid to rest at 8:15 pm on Thursday in Mumbai. The late actor's final journey began from his residence in Yari Road, Mumbai.

Anupam Kher, who has been friends with Satish Kaushik, was seen in tears at the late actor’s funeral. Kher was sitting inside the ambulance with Kaushik’s mortal remains along with his other family members.

Salman Khan arrived at Satish Kaushik’s Versova residence to pay his last respects to the late actor-filmmaker. Khan had worked with Satish Kaushik on 2003's Tere Naam.

Satish Kaushik is one of the most respected celebrities in the film fraternity and will be cremated today. The actor died of a heart attack on Thursday morning. A photo of Kaushik from 1979 is going viral on social media, showing him when he first stepped into Mumbai. Sharing a black-and-white photo of himself back in 2020, Satish had penned a heartfelt note when he arrived in the city of dreams.

Actor Anil Kapoor, who has worked with late actor-filmmaker Satish Kaushik in several films, took to Twitter to share a heartbreaking note on her friend and younger brother Satish Kaushik’s demise. Sharing some vintage pics featuring Anupam Kher, Anil wrote, "The Laurels of the industry have lost their Hardy…the Three Musketeers have lost the most talented, generous and loving Musketeer and I have lost my younger brother…gone too soon… I love you Satish ♥️."

Actor Salman Kahn took to Instagram to mourn the death of veteran filmmaker-actor Satish Kaushik, who passed away in the wee hours of Thursday, March 9. Satish had directed Salman in the 2003 film Tere Naam, which was a superhit back then. Sharing a photo with Kaushaik featuring his brother Arbaz and Sohail Khan, Salamn wrote, "Always loved cared n respected him n shall alway remember him for the man that he was. May his soul rest in peace n strength to family n loved ones. .. #rip Satish Ji."

As veteran actor Satish Kaushik bids an emotional farewell to the world, Tere Naam has taken the top spot on the trending list on microblogging site Twitter. A man is seen singing the film’s title song live on a road in Southall, London. The film was directed by Kaushik in 2003 and starred Salman Khan.

As veteran actor and director Satish Kaushik is no more, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media and mourned his death. He wrote, "Pained by the untimely demise of noted film personality Shri Satish Kaushik Ji. He was a creative genius who won hearts thanks to his wonderful acting and direction. His works will continue to entertain audiences. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti."

The manager of the veteran actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik recounted the moments before his death and said, "Satish ji went off to sleep at around 9:40 pm last night and called me to say that he was feeling restless around 10:00 pm. I was with him throughout, I didn’t imagine we’d lose him like this."

Anupam Kher reached Satish Kaushik's Mumbai residence earlier today and talked to media reporters stationed there. He said, "I don’t know how many years I will take to process that he is no more."

The body of Satish Kaushik will be transported to Mumbai via air ambulance, and his funeral ceremony is scheduled to be held at 5 pm from his residence.

Mourning Satish Shah's demise, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar took to social media and wrote, "Chanda Mama is gone. Deeply saddened to hear about Satish Kaushik ji’s demise. Will remember him for the spontaneous laughter he brought to the sets of Mr & Mrs Khiladi. Am sure he’s already making everyone smile in heaven. Om Shanti."

After postmortem, Satish Kaushik's mortal remains will be brought back to Mumbai after which his last rites will be held today.

According to reports, Satish Kaushik's body has been transferred from Fortis Hospital in Gurugram to Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital in Delhi for a postmortem.

Satish Kaushik's last Twitter post is also going viral on social media. The actor celebrated Holi with Javed Akhtar and other celebrities just a day before his death. Taking to social media, he posted several photos from the Holi party in which he's looking happy while posing with his industry friends.

In a heartfelt note, Anupam Kher expressed his disbelief at the sudden loss of his best friend of 45 years and mourned Satish Kaushik's demise. He tweeted, "I know that death is the ultimate truth of this world! But I had not thought even in my wildest dreams that I would write this thing about my best friend someday. Such a sudden full stop to a friendship of 45 years!! Life will NEVER be the same without you SATISH!"
