Ahead Of Selfiee Release, Here's A Look At Box Office Collection Of Akshay Kumar's LAST 5 Films
Akshay Kumar will next be seen in the comedy flick Selfiee, alongside Emraan Hashmi.

Akshay Kumar is undeniably the most bankable star in Bollywood. His films are not only entertaining, but they also attract a large number of people to the theaters. His brilliance when it comes to performing any character and giving 100 percent to the project is also what makes him the most likeable actor in the industry. Meanwhile, the actor is gearing up for his next big release, Selfiee, which is scheduled to release tomorrow, February 23. The film is a remake of Malayalam movie Driving Licence and also stars Emrran Hashmi.
The actor has been on a promotional spree and seems quite confident about the film. His films were usually declared blockbusters in the pre-pandemic era, with each film breaking into the coveted Rs 100 crore club. Unlike others, Kumar reinvented himself with different genres of films and was well received by audiences. However, India's audience taste changed after the pandemic, and Akshay Kumar's films have been struggling to even pull people to the cinemas.
The last few years have been lean for Akshya Kumar, with most of his films underperforming at the box-office. In 2022, Kumar has given four consecutive flops, and Selfiee whose Malayalam remake is already available on an OTT platform, has received less buzz. But before we even delve more deeply into how the film will perform, let's look at the actors' last five movies' box office collections.
Ram Setu

Ram Setu was Akshay Kumar's fifth release of 2022. The action-adventure was the biggest opener of the year, opening to negative reviews from critics and audiences alike. It went on to gross ₹93 crore at the worldwide box office, failing to make up for its 150 crore budget.
Raksha Bandhan

Kumar's 2022 movie failed to impress cinemagoers. Raksha Bandhan, directed by Aanand L Rai, starred Bhumi Pednekar opposite Akshay Kumar. Kumar plays the eldest brother in the house, whose sole aim in life is to get his four sisters married off into a good family. The movie's story wasn't appreciated much by audiences, and it made a worldwide gross collection of only ₹61.58 crore.
Samrat Prithviraj

Akshay Kumar for the first time played a historic character, Prithviraj Chauhan, a Rajput king, in Samrat Prithviraj. The film bombed horribly at the box-office and could only make ₹90.32 crore worldwide.
Bachchhan Pandey

The action comedy film had an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi, and Jacqueline Fernandez. Pankaj Tripathi, Prateik Babbar, and Sanjay Mishra, among others, were part of the official remake of the 2014 Tamil film Jigarthand. Bachchhan Pandey was declared a huge commercial failure, making 73.17 crore worldwide.
Sooryavanshi

Akshya Kumar's last hit was Rohit Shetty's action drama Sorryavanshi. Also starring Katrina Kaif, the Dharma Productions flick was released on November 5, 2021, during Diwali. After the COVID-19 pandemic, the cop drama received mixed reviews from critics but went on to become the highest grossing film of the year, grossing 294.91 crore.
