Arun Govil Slams Adipurush Makers: Om Raut's latest offering, Adipurush starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon as Lord Ram and Sita was released in cinemas on June 16. The film opened to mixed reactions and was mired in controversies for its dialogues that have irked the viewers.

The viewers expressed their disappointment over the film on social media, where the makers faced criticism for the poorly-written dialogues of the modern-day adaptation of the Hindu epic saga, 'Ramayana'. Joining the netizens is actor Arun Govil, who is known for essaying lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's series Ramayan.

Arun Govil during an interaction with ABP News slammed the makers for distorting the facts and expressed his disappointment with the Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer. He expressed his disapproval of the fundamental changes in the film that he saw on social media.

Opening on the dialogues written by Manoj Muntashir for Bajrang (Devdatta Nage), he said, "I don't support this kind of language in Ramayana."

The actor added that he finds this 'Hollywood-styled cartoon' created by makers hard to digest. While Saif Ali Khan's look was criticized by viewers from the time the film's teaser was released, Arun Govil said that it's the makers who decide the characters' looks, so the actors can't be blamed. "I don't understand what the makers thought of making this film," the veteran actor added.

The actor was quoted as saying, "Ramayana is a matter of faith for us and to tamper with its form in any way is unacceptable." He said that the concept of modernity and mythology in Ramayana was absolutely wrong. He asserted, "Movie's special effects are a different aspect, it's about presenting the characters in the right way, which has to be considered with utmost seriousness."

The veteran star further questioned the depiction of characters in the film and said, "What was wrong with the depiction we have all known and loved for all these years? What was the need to change things? Perhaps the team doesn't have proper faith in Lord Rama and Sita, and that is why they made these changes."
