Veteran Actor Birbal Khosla Passes Away

Birbal Khosla Death: One of the most prolific actors, Satinder Kumar Khosla, affectionately known as Birbal, passed away on Tuesday. He was 84. The legendary actor left an indelible mark on Indian cinema with his impeccable comic timing and versatile acting prowess.

The veteran actor suffered a cardiac arrest and his final rites will be performed on Wednesday.

Birbal Khosla's career spanned over five decades and he featured in a staggering 500 films. Born in 1938 in Gurdaspur, Punjab, he made his Bollywood debut in 1966 with the film Do Bandhan. However, he rose to fame in 1967, with the film Upkar, which further paved the way for an illustrious career in the world of cinema.

One of his most iconic roles was in the legendary 1975 film Sholay, where he played the character of a police officer. He added a touch of humor to his character to an otherwise intense storyline. His impeccable comic timing and ability to effortlessly connect with the audience made him a household name.

He essayed diverse roles with finesse. From Charlie Chaplin, Boond Jo Ban Gayi Moti, and Roti Kapda Aur Makaan, his portrayal of a variety of characters solidified his status as a versatile actor.

While he was best known for his contributions to Hindi cinema, Birbal Khosla also graced the screens of Punjabi, Bhojpuri, and Marathi cinema with his remarkable performances. In his career, Birbal worked alongside some of the industry's finest actors, including Manoj Kumar in Upkar, Roti Kapda Aur Makaan, and Kranti.

His filmography includes notable titles like Naseeb, Yaarana, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, and Anjaam among several others.
