Bobby Deol On Marital Rape Scene In Animal: In the wake Sandeep Reddy Vanga's latest release, Animal, Bobby Deol has emerged as the star of the week, drawing both praise and criticism for his portrayal of the mute villain, Abrar.

With an intense and gritty storyline, Animal has emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, however, the film has also faced backlash for its misogynistic approach. A controversial marital rape scene has also become a talking point that involves Bobby Deol's character.

Now, during an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Bobby Deol has reacted to the scene that has garnered massive criticism.

Expressing his excitement for taking on the role of Abrar, he called it an unique opportunity to convey emotions without uttering a single word. He said, "I knew there was so much I could do with it without even speaking a word." Being mute, he explained, allowed him to focus on his other senses, bringing a different kind of energy to his performance.

Deol added, "When I was performing, I had no inhibitions whatsoever." In Animal, Abrar is portrayed as a savage seeking revenge against Ranbir Kapoor's character for killing his brother. The character, in a brutal scene, violates his three wives as an act of vengeance.

Contrary to the criticism, Bobby Deol offered a different perspective on his character, stating, "I was just portraying this character who is savage, who is an evil man, and this is how he treats his women, this is how he is. And that's how I portrayed it. He's a romantic actually with his three wives."

MANSI TAXAK ON MARITAL RAPE SCENE IN ANIMAL

Earlier, in an interview with Zoom Entertainment, Mansi Taxak, who played Bobby Deol's third wife in the film, talked about the controversial scene, and asserted that she did not view it as an 'assault.' She was quoted as saying, "Animal instincts are unpredictable instincts. So he goes into that zone, and to vent out his emotions, he comes to his wives. I don't think it was intended to be any sort of assault. I didn't feel it on the set, or in the script. That was not the case. It was just a relationship between two people that has panned out the way it did."
