Deepika Padukone On Backlash: Deepika Padukone, undeniably, is one of Hindi cinema's biggest lady superstars. She is the latest Indian to get featured on the Cover of TIME magazine and has multiple times represented India with pride at international platforms.
In a career spanning for about 15 years, the Pathaan actress has alway found herself at the receiving end of political controversies and trolling. The star recently opened up about the constant backlash that has surrounded her over the years.
DEEPIKA PADUKONE AND POLITICAL CONTROVERSY
Deepika Padukone has been embroiled in several controversies. One of her firsts was during the release of her movie Padmavat when it was claimed to have disrespected the sentiments of Rajput's. In 2020, Deepika's visit to support Jawaharlal Nehru University students protesting against the CAA was also seen as an anti-national gesture.
And the most recent was the harsh criticism over her movie Pathaan's song "Besharam Rang," which was considered to be an insult to saffron colour as she donned a saffron-coloured bikini. BJP ministers and right-wing outfits stated that the colour is considered holy in the Hindu community.

While Deepika refrained from saying anything about these controversies, the actress, now in an interview with TIME magazine, finally opened up about the controversies and said she doesn't feel anything about them.
Saying that she chose to stay busy and ignore the negativity and, after a long pause, "I don't know if I'm supposed to feel something about it. But the truth is, I don't feel anything about it," Deepika said.

Deepika is currently working on her next project, Nag Ashwin's sci-fi actioner Project K alongside Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan. She also has Siddharth Anand-directed Fighter, with Hrithik Roshan and Intern Amitabh Bachchan.
