Dibyendu Bhatacharya on getting his due late
Talking about getting late recognition in the entertainment industry, he said, "Everything takes time. Everybody is not born with a silver spoon, but our parents have tried to provide us with a good education and life, which is also a privilege. Many don't have that privilege. I went to the National School of Drama, and from there, it was me who had to do the hard work."
"Aur kuch log hote hai jo bina kuch kiye bhi star ban jate hai. So, you cannot crib about everything. I am the only one who can take responsibility for my life; hence, I don't blame it on anyone else if better things didn't happen with me before."
He then added, "Kyunki woh time aisa tha jab Bollywood mein alag tarike ki films banti thi jaha as an actor, mujhe koi dekh hi nahi raha tha. They had a set kind of look on television as well."
Furthermore, he pointed out that streaming platforms have been helpful for him to showcase more of his talent, he said, "OTT ane ke baad situation change hui hai. Logon ne mujhe chance diya hai toh main audience se connect kar paya. So, everything has its time."
Dibyendu on his role in Ghuspaith Between The Borders
Reflecting that he always wanted to play a role like this, the actor said, "When I was approached, I immediately said yes. The character is actually a simple guy who is a transporter who takes risks for his livelihood. He is Bangladeshi, and because I am also a Bengali, I'm familiar with the dialect of the character."
"Ghuspaith is a good film that Mihir and Girish have produced. A short film getting financed is a big thing. And it is not a stereotypical story about Bangladesh or Afghanistan or something, but the story of the entire world. People are getting displaced, and wherever they are, they're facing the same issues. So, it's a global issue. That is why Ghuspaith is an important film in today's time, and I'm glad that Mihir has come up with this kind of film. It's a pertinent story, and I'm thankful to Jio Cinema for celebrating such stories," he told us.
Ghuspaith can be streamed on the JioCinema app. Dibyendu will next be seen in Chakda X'press and Fateh.
