DILIP KUMAR BUNGALOW SET TO BE DEMOLISHED

Often hailed as the 'Tragedy King,' Dilip Kumar enchanted audiences with his roles in cinematic gems like Mughal-E-Azam, and Devdas among several others. His legacy continues to shine even after his passing, and now his family has chosen a remarkable way to honor his memory.

A report by the Indian Express reveals that Dilip Kumar's family has given their approval for the demolition of his iconic Pali Hill bungalow. In its place, a state-of-the-art residential project is set to emerge, accompanied by a dedicated museum on the ground floor, which will serve as a tribute to the actor's illustrious life and his achievements.

For the luxurious project that is slated for completion by 2027, the late star's family has teamed up with realty developer Ashar Group. The venture is estimated to yield an impressive revenue of Rs 900 crore. The sprawling half-acre land, situated in one of Mumbai's most upscale neighborhoods, will house an eleven-story construction spanning an astounding 1.75 lakh square feet.

The project has weathered legal disputes over the years, including allegations of document forgery by a real estate firm aiming to take over the property. However, following an extended legal battle, Saira Banu, Dilip Kumar's wife, secured ownership of the cherished bungalow in 2017. With legal hurdles now resolved, the construction is set to initiate smoothly.

Meanwhile, Dilip Kumar's cinematic journey was marked by unforgettable portrayals of characters with tragic destinies. His performances in films like Mughal-E-Azam and Devdas etched his name in the history of Indian cinema.
