A Malayalam serial actress, who waseight months pregnant, died a day ago at a private hospital here following a cardiac arrest, one of her colleagues in the industry said on Wednesday. The baby of the actress - Dr Priya -- was saved by doctors of the hospital and is presently on ventilator support in the ICU as it was premature, a hospital source said. Actor Kishor Satya shared on social media the tragic news of the 35-year-old actress' death. He said that she had gone for a routine check-up when she suffered a cardiac arrest. He also said that the actress did not have any health issues. Dr Priya worked as a gynae assistant.

The success of The Kerala Story has put light on the important issue of women who are victims of religious conversion. Now sources reveal that filmmaker and producer of The Kerala Story, Vipul Amrutlal Shah, has donated 50 lakhs to Arsha Vidya Samajam, which is a rehabilitation centre for women who have faced forced religious conversion. A source close to Arsha Vidya Samajam reveals, “Vipul Amrutlal Shah and his team from Sunshine Pictures have been in constant touch with our samajam. Because of his concern and bonding with us, he has again donated rupees fifty lakh this month. He is a generous person and his kindness has proved that humanity is still alive in this world.” However, this isn’t the first time Shah has donated money to this ashram. In May this year, reports surfaced that the filmmaker had donated an amount of Rs 51 lakh to the ashram that works on rehabilitation and making life better for around 300 women.

This incident took place at the residence of businessman B. N. Bramaresh (58) in Mahalakshmi Layout on October 21. Bramaresh and his family had returned from a trip to Greece on October 29, only to discover that their home had been ransacked. Upon inspecting the safe, the family realized that 5.5 kilograms of gold ornaments, worth Rs 3 crore, and approximately Rs 6 lakh in cash were missing. Bramaresh filed a complaint with the Mahalakshmi Layout police.
