Big plans are in place and the plans are locked to bring the film in the international markets on December 21, reaping the benefit of the extended holiday period.Dunki team is going ahead with a full-day release on December 21 and not just late-night premiere shows. The idea is to maximize on word of mouth and get the audience excited for the conventional weekend from Friday to Sunday. SRK (Shah Rukh Khan) is the biggest Indian name in the international belts and with the support of global holidays, Dunki will do unimaginable numbers in the four-day weekend period before getting into Christmas holiday.” Dunki is directed by Raju Hirani.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur announced that veteran actress Waheeda Rehman will be honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award, which is the country’s top honour in the field of cinema. Reacting to the same, Rehman said in an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha that she feels honoured by the recognition. He stated: “It is a huge honour and a privilege that the Government of India chose me to be conferred with such a prestigious award. It makes me very grateful that the recognition has come to me on the centenary birthday of my favourite co-star late Dev Saab (Dev Anand). There couldn’t have been a better day to announce it. I want to thank the entire film fraternity and my fans who have always supported me throughout my career and still shower the same respect. I’m grateful to God for my friends, and my family. I’m really happy.”

Actor Katrina Kaif has been appointed by the Japanese apparel brand Uniqlo. She will be the first Indian to become the official brand ambassador for the brand. He wrote on X, “I feel an immense sense of happiness and honour in announcing that Waheeda Rehman ji is being bestowed with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award this year for her stellar contribution to Indian Cinema.” He added, “Waheeda ji has been critically acclaimed for her roles in Hindi films, prominent among them, Pyaasa, Kaagaz ke Phool, Chaudhavi Ka Chand, Saheb Biwi Aur Ghulam, Guide, Khamoshi and several others. In her career spanning over 5 decades, she has essayed her roles with extreme finesse, leading to a National Film Award for her role as a clanswoman in the film Reshma and Shera. A Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awardee, Waheeda ji has exemplified dedication, commitment and the strength of a Bharatiya Nari who can achieve the highest level of professional excellence with her hardwork.”

Dilip Kumar’s younger sister Saeeda Khan has passed away. She was reportedly suffering from a prolonged illness and breathed her last on September 24. According to a report in ETimes, Saeeda Khan had been suffering from a prolonged illness recently. A close family member of hers spoke to the portal and revealed that she was known for her kindness and compassion. She is survived by her son Saqib and daughter Ilham, as her husband Iqbal Khan passed away in 2018. Iqbal Khan was a trustee of the famous Mehboob Studios in Bandra, founded by his father Mehboob Khan in 1954. A condolence meeting is reportedly scheduled to be held today, September 26, 2023, at the Mehboob Studio in Mumbai.
