Celebrity fashion designer Manish Malhotra has finally confirmed his debut as a director with a biopic based on the late legendary actress Meena Kumari. In a recent interview with Film Companion, Manish, for the first time, admitted that the film is in the scripting stage. He said, "I don’t know how it got out but it is happening. We are still working on the script. The script is key, always. I have been reading her books. The film is based on her books. I have always been fascinated by Meena Kumari."

Actor Amitabh Bachchan, who will be next seen in Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi thriller Kalki 2898 AD’s first glimpse launch at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). Kalki 2898 AD became the first-ever Indian movie to participate in the prestigious event. In his blog, Bachchan said, "Alright .. so .. San Diego and K, the project .. a great moment for the film and the makers and all those that went there for the release of the first look for it .. I was pushed hard by Nagi Sir to come along, but work and medical restrictions have kept me away from many such occasions .. so .. but I must admit the first look was pretty darn good .. wasn’t it .. style, music, frames .. everything." He then added, "And finally the reveal of K .. KALKI .. mythologically so important .. 2898 AD!! AD has been changed has it not? Yes .. In an interview with the YouTube channel Chalchitra Talks, Varma revealed that in Pink he was supposed to play a Delhi boy and had never been to Delhi before the film. So, to sound like one from Delhi, he took ideas from Roadies auditions, as he is a Madwari from Hyderbad. He said, "Then, a great idea came to me. I started watching Roadies Delhi auditions and Splitsvilla Delhi auditions. And there they would speak like, "Bhai, tu kar de bhai (Bro, you do this bro)", so I picked that up. There was a girl speaking in a distinct way that I picked up something from her. So, I added those up and put them in Pink."

The first glimpse of Suriya’s upcoming Tamil movie, Kanguva, was unveiled on the occasion of his 48th birthday. On Sunday, Saregama Tamil released an over-two-minute-long video teaser of Kanguva that showed Suriya as a tribal warrior who led an army to war. Greta Gerwig’s fantasy drama film Barbie witnessed a rise on its second day at the Indian box office but is still trailing behind Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. Having opened at Rs 5 crore on Friday, July 21, the film, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the lead, added Rs 6.58 crore on its second day in India. This brings the film's overall total to Rs 17.74 crore. Barbie is inspired by the beloved Barbie fashion dolls, which show Barbie and Ken leaving their perfect pink Barbie land and facing the challenges of living among humans.

Falaq Naaz and Jad Hadid, two participants in Bigg Boss OTT 2, have been evicted from the reality show this week. Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling's Barbie has been temporarily banned in Pakistan for its references to and several themes about the LGBTQ+ community. Pakistan's Punjab Censor Board has temporarily put a ban on Greta Grewig’s film, and as per a report by Daily Pakistan, the ban will be removed once the "objectional content" is cut from the film. It is currently under review by the Punjab Censor Board's authorities. Directed by Greta Grewig, Barbie will release in Pakistan once it is reviewed, but the date is still not known. Not only Pakistan, but many Muslim nations, including the UAE, Egypt, Qatar, Iran, and Saudi Arabia, have banned the film for its pro-LGBTQ content. While the other countries have only put a temporary ban on it, Iran has permanently banned Barbie. Other countries that have also banned the fantasy film are Russia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

Rumoured couple, actors Ananya Panday and Aditya Roy Kapur, were stopped on Saturday night for a drive and a date amid the rains in Mumbai. Several pictures and videos of the two have gone viral on social media, where the duo can be seen in casual outfits sitting inside their car and smiling as they get captured. In the photos that have surfaced online, Ananya is shown hiding her face with her hand as she smiles and looks at Aditya as they speak to each other. Aditya kept smiling as he drove his car. For the outing, the actress wore a pink outfit, while Aditya was dressed in a white shirt and pants.

Christopher Nolan's directorial, Oppenheimer, which released on Friday, has been making waves at India’s box office. The film raked in Rs 17 crore on the second day of its release, taking its collection to Rs 31.50 crore. The English version of the film has made Rs 12.75 crore, while the Hindi version has made Rs 1.75 crore. It stars Cillian Murphy in the titular role of J Robert Oppenherimer, known as the father of the atomic bomb. Other cast members of the film include Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Casey Affleck, Josh Hartnett, Kenneth Branagh, and Rami Malek.
