It seems things are still not well between Archana Gautam and Shiv Thakare as the former refused to perform with her Bigg Boss 16 co-contestant in Khatron Ke Khiladi 13. She said that she couldn't perform a partner stunt with Shiv Thakare, stating, "Camera ke peeche kuch cheezein aise hui hai jo main bata nahi sakti."

Shah Rukh Khan, who is gearing up for the release of Jawan, celebrated Independence Day 2023 with wife Gauri Khan and son AbRam Khan. Sharing video from the celebrations he wrote, "Now the little one has made it a tradition. Hoisting of our beloved Tricolour and wishing everyone Happy Independence Day. Actor Ankita Lokhande’s father, Shashikant Lokhande, passed away on Saturday, August 12. He was 68. She was very close to her dad, and after his demise, Ankita took to her Instagram page on Tuesday and shared a heartbreaking note, remembering all the good moments with her dad. Dropped a video that featured her her family, Ankita wrote, "Hello daddy I can’t describe you in words, but I want to say that I have never seen such strong , energetic and adorable person in my life.. I got to know about u more when u left us .. everyone who came to see u they were just just just praising you like how u used to send good morning messages to them everyday, how u used to call people or video call them when u missed them .. u kept every relationship with everyone so alive .. and now I know why I’m also like this it’s because of u my paa."

Actor Amitabh Bachchan took to his blog today to review his son Abhsishek Bachchan’s upcoming sports drama film Ghoomer. On Tuesday, Amitabh said that he watched the film twice and revealed that he cried too. Praising R Balki’s work, Amitabh wrote, "So yes saw Ghoomer back to back twice .. Sunday afternoon .. and then at night again .. and the verdict is beyond mention .. simply incredible.. eyes have been in the aqua flow from the very first frame .. and when the progeny is involved, they flow copiously .. and each reaction has some wonder in their thoughts and words and deeds .. each notices something that is so endearing and appealing." It also stars Saiyami Kher, Shabana Azmi, and Angad Bedi in lead roles. Ghoomer was recently premiered at the opening night of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2023, where it received a standing ovation. The film hit theatres on August 18.

Sunny Deol and Amessha Patel’s epic love saga movie Gadar 2 was released on August 11, and the film has taken the box office by storm. The film is a superhit, and at the success party of the film, its director, Anil Sharma, spilled the beans on the possibility of the next installment of the film, Gadar 3. Talking about Gadar 3, Sharma said, "You'll have to wait for that. Intezar ka fal meetha hota hai (the fruit of patience is sweet), just like this one (Gadar 2). Some thoughts have come to me and Shaktimaan Ji's (writer of Gadar 2) minds. So just wait everything will happen."

Actor Rana Daggubati earlier made comments on a ‘Bollywood heroine’ who wasted actor Dulquer Salman's time on sets of their film. During an event in Hyderabad for Dulquer’s upcoming movie King Of Kotha, Rana was seen saying that he visited Dulquer on his film sets, where the film’s heroine was engrossed in her own world. He said, "While he was standing in the corner with the spot boy, a big Hindi heroine who was doing that movie was engrossed in a phone conversation about shopping in London with her husband. Her lack of focus affected the shots’ quality, frustrating those on set. Despite the disruptions caused by the situation, Dulquer remained patient and understanding, defusing tension and maintaining a harmonious environment." Note, Sonam and Dulquer worked together on The Zoya Factor. Soon after Rana’s comments went viral, the actor took to social media to apologise to Sonam for the negativity she had received because of his remarks. In a fresh tweet, he wrote, "I am genuinely troubled by the negativity that has been aimed at Sonam due to my comments, which are totally untrue and were meant entirely in a light-hearted manner." He also apologised to Dulquer Salmaan.

Actor Akshay Kumar announced on Tuesday that he had once again become an Indian citizen on Independence Day. Kumar, who has often faced criticism over his Canadian citizenship, shared a photo of his Indian citizenship certificate on X, formerly called Twitter. Sharing the proof, he wrote, "Dil aur citizenship, dono Hindustani. Happy Independence Day! Jai Hind!" His citizenship status had come under intense scrutiny after he did not vote during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. During an event in 2019, the actor revealed that he had applied for an Indian passport.

On the occasion of India's 77th Independence Day on August 15, 2023, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri announced the release date of his most-talked-about film, The Vaccine War. He also unveiled the teaser for his upcoming film, which is based on India's battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. Sharing the teaser on X (Twitter), he wrote, "DATE ANNOUNCEMENT: Dear friends, your film #TheVaccineWar #ATrueStory will release worldwide on the auspicious day of 28th September 2023. Please bless us." The teaser gives us a glimpse of Pallavi Joshi and Nana Patekar characters and shows a nurse carrying an infectious substance covered in a box in a scientific lab. The film is called India’s first bio-science film, and also stars Raima Sen, Anupam Kher, Girija Oak, Nivedita Bhattacharya, Sapthami Gowda, and Mohan Kapur in key roles. Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor will be seen together in Sidharth Anand’s upcoming India's first aerial movie, Fighter. On the occasion of Independence Day, the team unveiled the first look of the movie, promising a visual spectacle for the audience. Releasing a short teaser on social media, the motion poster introduces Hrithik, Deepika, and Anil as Air Force officers. Sharing the clip, Hrithik wrote, "#SpiritOfFighter | Vande Mataram! See you in the theaters on the eve of India’s 75th Republic Day. Fighter releases worldwide on 25th January 2024.(Sic)" The film will be released next year on Republic Day, 2024.

Amazon Prime Video’s Made in Heaven 2's fifth episode, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, featured a Dalit author played by Radhika Apte (Pallavi Menke), who embraces her true identity and stands up for her community. On Monday, journalist and author Yashica Dutt took to social media and shared a snapshot of her book, Coming Out as Dalit, and slammed the makers, saying they didn't credit or even take permission from her for showing her life on the screen. Sharing a clip from the episode, Yashica questioned the makers for praising the makers for showing a Dalit-Buddhist wedding and acknowledging' her contribution to the 'central ideas' but she also showed disappointment over not being consulted before. Bigg Boss OTT season 2, hosted by Salman Khan, came to an end today with YouTuber Elvish Yadav creating history as the first wild card contestant to lift the trophy. The five finalists for season 2 of Bigg Boss OTT were Elvish Yadav, Abhishek Malhan, Pooja Bhatt, Manisha Rani, and Bebika Dhurve. After Pooja Bhatt, Manisha Rani, and Bebika. Elvish received ₹25 lakh in prize money and the Bigg Boss trophy. Soon after winning, Elvish took to his Instagram page and thanked his fans for supporting him in his Bigg Boss journey. Sharing a photo of himself holding the trophy, Yadav wrote, "Elvish Army Is The Best." Speaking to Hindustan Times, he said that he was confident about winning the show, and when asked what his plan is as a free man now, he said, "I will head home and sleep for 24 hours. Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan will be sharing screens for the first time in Fighter. The film’s first glimpse will be unveiled today on the occasion of Independence Day. Touted as India's first aerial action film, Fighter is directed by Pathaan fame Siddharth Anand and also stars Anil Kapoor in the lead role. A big announcement is all set for its release today at 10 a.m. Taking to her Instagram handle, Deepika Padukone shared a poster and captioned it: "10AM, Tomorrow. #SpiritOfFighter #SiddharthAnand @hrithikroshan."
