Entertainment Highlights: Parineeti Chopra-Raghav Chadha Engagement Details; Adipurush Trailer Out

Rumoured couple Parineeti Chopra and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha were snapped arriving at the Delhi airport on Tuesday. Paprazzis stationed there started clicking their pictures and asked Parineeti about her if they were invited to her wedding or not. Both couldn't help but blush. Reportedly, they are expected to get engaged on May 13, which will be followed by a dinner party among close family members and friends.

On Tuesday, Kriti Sanon attended the trailer launch of Adipurush in Hyderabad in a gorgeous white and gold saree. Her stylist, Sukriti Grover, took to Instagram and shared her photo. The saree has been custom designed by ace designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. The silk saree featured gota patti embroidered in gold and pink threadwork, and a broad bronze gold border. After Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee during a media interaction said ‘The Kashmir Files’ was “meant purely to humiliate a particular section of society”, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri sent her a legal notice. Vivek took to Twitter and shared a four-page-long notice sent to Mamata, "BREAKING: I have, alongwith @AbhishekOfficl & Pallavi Joshi, sent a LEGAL NOTICE to the Chief Minister, Bengal @MamataOfficial for her false & highly defamatory statements made with malafide intention to defame us & our films #TheKashmirFiles & upcoming 2024 film #TheDelhiFiles."

After her Filmfare Award for the 2022 film, Badhaai Do, Bhumi Pednekar opened up on same-sex marriage. During an interaction with ETimes, the actress said, “I just feel love is love and as individuals, we should all have equality in every aspect of life. I feel God made us from the same thread and it is not up to us to have biases and pass judgments on what somebody's life deserves to be. I'm an ally of the community." She also added, "Winning the Filmfare is more like a personal victory but the love the film got as a whole is a victory for the community. The success and love the film has received makes you realize that our country is changing and our cinema is part of the changing narrative like in so many of my other films in the past. Badhaai Do is an extremely important film for me, as I have a part of my soul attached to it, given that I have so many friends who are from the LGBTQIA+ community. I got a chance to represent them in a small way and it makes me feel that I'm part of the solution to their challenges."

The makers have finally unveiled the trailer of one of the highly anticipated film, 'Adipurush'. The pan-India film that features Kriti Sanon, Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, Sunny Singh, and others will be released in theaters on June 16, globally. This epic saga is directed by the visionary Om Raut and produced by the prolific Bhushan Kumar.

Amid ‘The Kerala Story’ ban, the Producers Guild of India issued a statement through which it strongly objected to the ‘state-enforced’ ban on the film. The twitter handle of the Producers Guild of India shared the statement and captioned it as, "Official Statement by Producers Guild of India." The statement read, "The Producers Guild of India is distressed by, and would like to record its strong objection to, state-enforced bans on The Kerala Story. As emphasized by us on several occasions in the past, film releases are regulated by CBFC and any film that complies with this statutory requirement should face no further hurdles in having the paying public decide on its fate." The statement adds, "Of course, the audience can choose to watch or ignore any film but that is a choice that should be theirs to make, not one that is imposed on them by any party other than CBFC. We call upon all the relevant authorities to urgently address this all-too-frequent phenomenon of films being denied their right to unfettered, nation-wide exhibition despite having duly complied with regulatory requirements."

The president of the Indian Film & Television Directors' Association and filmmaker, Ashoke Pandit has condemned Mamata Banerjee’s dictatorial attitude of Mamata Banerjee after she called for a ban on The Kerala Story in West Bengal. Ashoke took to his Twitter on Monday and wrote, "Happening in the same state Bengal where Amitabh Ji few days back was raising the issue of Freedom of expression. Unfortunately today a thought-provoking film #TheKeralaStory is banned by the same CM sitting on the stage applauding to what Bachchan Sahab was saying. I wish and hope Industry together condemns this dictatorial attitude of Mamata Banerjee."

Producer Vipul Shah reacted to the backlash his film, The Kerala Story is facing in several states and said he will take legal action. During his interaction with Times of India, Shah said, "How can I predict what the political parties are thinking today? That needs to be clarified by them only. If a government decides to ban a film, they need to clarify why they're banning it after the Supreme Court has cleared it. I tell my friends or supporters from the industry not to get involved in these controversies." He further added, "Because some people have a problem with Bollywood these days, and if someone supports the film, they get trolled. Despite my telling him not to, Vidyut Jammwal shared the film's trailer. He got a lot of trolling as well as love. There's one troll army that is trying to damage this film. But the audience is giving them their answer with each passing day. If the screenings of our film are stopped in West Bengal, we take legal recourse and take appropriate legal action."

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that the Adah Sharma starrer ‘The Kerala Story’ will be made tax-free in the state. Taking to his Twitter handle, the CM wrote in Hindi, “'The Kerala Story' will be made tax-free in Uttar Pradesh.”

Filmmaker Karan Johar hosted a dinner party at his residence last night. The house party was attended by several Bollywood celebrities including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor, rumoured couple Ananya Panday & Aditya Roy Kapur, Ayan Mukerji, Aarti Shetty among others.
